This assignment has been very challenging to say the least! I love playing with the paint and the collage pieces, but getting the color down and then covering the collage is tricky. I am now trying to rework this piece to add more activity to the collage and then adding to the foreground in such a way that won't detract from the horizon.

To me, this one looks like a city neighborhood. It is a busier collage than all my others, and I like the "signage" at right. Didn't like the brown foreground, but the texture is nice. I may try to brush some of the sky color over it to catch on some of the texture.
Bern, your horizons are turning out great! I had the same problems with paint and trying to create contrast between the elements. I'm still struggling with the horizon composition style. I think you 're nailing it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn!! I'm moving on to the next lesson . . . This one needs more work, but I'm moving on for now. I'm intrigued by the cruciform, and I really LOVE the ones you did! Your compositions are wonderful and you managed to create such depth and dimension with the orange collage and paint. I ran out of collage papers and ended up cutting up some of my blood journals today, which are a great source of colorful "blood" ads. :-)
