Grandparents

I don't have a scanner, so I took pictures of pictures...the journal page is my grandmother, Florence, and grandfather, Abe, taken in 1907. Below that is a photo of both grandparents taken in 1957, from left to right: Anna V., Abe D., Paul V., Florence D.

My grandparents from my father's side, who lived in the Adirondack region of NewYork, used to take me for rides in the country after dinner.

I remember they had a framed print of the 23rd Psalm hanging in their home. For some reason, it comes to mind:

23rd Psalm

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Reading it now reminds me of how safe I felt when I was in their company.

New stencils

Trying out the new stencils from Donna Downey. Love them! These were made using Delusions ink spray "ghosting" technique for the background and ColorBox pigment inks for the stenciled flowers.

Hollyhocks

I'm infatuated with hollyhocks! I just love to see them all lined up next to a house. So pretty!

Cat

I finally figured out how to post pics to the blog using the iPad, but only iPad pics! This is a sleepy Allie cat.

Random expression

This is a piece I made some time ago, playing with rubber stamps I carved, stencils, and acrylic paint. Tons of fun!
